The City of North Port, incorporated in June 1959, strategically occupies the west coast of Florida between Tampa and Ft. Myers, holding the title as the largest city both in landmass and population in Sarasota County.

Only minutes away from some of Florida’s most beautiful beaches, including Stump Pass State Park, Siesta Key, and others on Manasota, Casey, and Longboat Keys, North Port provides access to four nearby airports: Sarasota, Punta Gorda, Fort Myers, and Tampa.

Under Florida’s sunshine and warm climate, residents and visitors alike enjoy a high quality of life year-round. Rich in archaeological history and blessed with beautiful natural springs, including the renowned Warm Mineral Springs with its constant 85-degree temperature and one of the highest mineral contents globally, North Port boasts over 80 miles of freshwater canals. Golfing, boating, kayaking, nature walks, and horseback riding are all accessible in and around North Port, which is also home to the Myakka State Forest and Cool Today Park, the Atlanta Braves Spring Training.

The school system in North Port is Sarasota County Public Schools, one of the top-rated in the state. North Port has its own high school, two middle schools, and five elementary schools. Several universities and colleges, including Florida Gulf Coast University and State College of Florida (Venice), are within an hour’s drive of North Port. Additionally, three technical colleges—Suncoast Technical College, Southern Technical College, and Charlotte Technical College—offer educational opportunities.
