Sarasota County has long been recognized for its charming cities with world-class arts and culture, Sarasota County today is on the national map as a great place to live and work. Sarasota County anchors the middle of Florida’s western coast, 60 miles south of Tampa Bay. Surrounded by 35 miles of beach front on Florida’s Gulf of Mexico, Sarasota is part of a string of small tropical islands called “keys”. They include the southern half of Longboat Key, Lido Key, Siesta Key and Casey Key. Sarasota County also includes the municipalities of Longboat Key, North Port, Venice, and the City of Sarasota. In addition to incorporated cities Sarasota County is also home to unincorporated towns such as Lakewood Ranch, Osprey, Laurel, Nokomis, and Englewood.

Thousands of new residents move to Sarasota County each year. By 2008 the population was estimated at 372,000 full time residents. In November of each year the population begins to swell as winter residents arrive to escape the cold and enjoy the sun, warm temperatures and all of the cultural and other activities that Sarasota County has to offer.

Sarasota is often referred to as the “Arts Capital of Florida”. Southern Living Magazine referred to it as the “nation’s per capita arts capital”. Sarasota County is home to the Sarasota Orchestra, Sarasota Ballet, and Sarasota Opera and many festivals including the Sarasota Jazz Festival, Comedy Festival and Film Festival. In addition the Van Wetzel Performing Arts Hall presents world class music, dance, comedy, and traveling Broadway Shows. The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art features significant art holdings and masterpieces, it also includes the Ringling’s 32 room Venetian-Gothic mansion on beautiful Sarasota Bay and The Circus Museum displaying memorabilia and artifacts from the American Circus and the Ringling Brothers family.

Fun in Sarasota County usually starts outdoors. Golf, Boating, Sunbathing and even Polo. The beaches of Lido Key and Siesta Key are some of the best in the world. The waters of the Gulf, wild and scenic Myakka River and other waterways in Sarasota County are paradise for those who love to sail, kayak, canoe or powerboat. Outdoor activities are only limited by your imagination.

Sarasota offers many special places to live. Choices range from multi acre country estates to a restored Old Florida home downtown, from high rise condominiums with water views to master planned and gated communities dedicated to golf, tennis, flying, horses or boating. Whatever your choice of neighborhood The Triad Group can make your dream home a reality.
